"It was my husband's first time here! I could not have asked for a better waitress, time, and food. Our waitress was phenomenal! I can not remember her name but she had the Halloween boo earrings on! She was bubbly fun and listened to our needs and met them quick fast and easy! She was sweet as can be and brought a lot of light to the restaurant! The food was amazing I got ribs and they fell right off the bone. The sauce was great and the meat was flavored well! My husband got BBQ pork minced and sliced. He said he really enjoyed his meal as well. The apple pie was so so good ! I look forward to going back!"

"Really nice restaurant. We just happened to go there one afternoon. We ordered sandwiches which were very good both chicken and fish. The fish one was very tasty. It's a 31 year old joint who doesn't accept cards but has an atm inside. They gave paper cheques. The server was friendly and the whole place had that old school vibe."

"Wonderful family restaurant in Hopewell! Old-fashioned, old-school, cash only, great food, super quick service with a smile ! And talk to the people here, very friendly- no cell phones. Check them out next time you're in Hopewell. Already made a return trip; the Barbecue Beef Deluxe is to die for!! and the veggies are Southern Country fantastic! Will return to check out the Homemade desserts... If you are a "Big Mac" fan, you have to try the K & L Burger ! If you haven't tried their Onion Rings, you need to go there now!! Great daily specials; just had the half chicken dinner, fried or BBQed, with 2 veggies, biscuits, and a drink for $10.25!!! Fantastic value and delicious to boot !!! Pig Pik'n Cake is luscious!! "

"My friend and I ate in. There was a smell around our booth that smelled like dirty bar towel. Service was good. The amount of BBQ on our sandwiches was pitiful. I have eaten here before and was satisfied with the amount but this was not up to par."

"We would always get BBQ from King's (for as long as I can remember) and were so sad when they had to close. I would always request that some be picked up and waiting for me when I drove down from MD or my parents would bring some up to me. K&L was suggested to us. We were skeptical at first but their BBQ is amazing! It's very similar to King's but is not the same, which is a good thing! They really bring some delicious BBQ to the table (literally). We were very impressed and will get our BBQ from here from now on. (Menu prices pictured current as of July 19, 2025) We ordered the party pack to go. Minced pork with an extra pound, BBQ beans, coleslaw, and hamburger buns instead of biscuits. Our order was ready very fast considering how busy the place was. Once we got back home and ate we understood why they are so busy. I'd give more stars if I could."

"Stopped in for lunch and got the pork BBQ sandwich with fries and beans and a drink. The BBQ sandwich didn't have a lot of meat but aas enough for lunch and it tasted great with some of there sauce on it. The price was also great for a lunch stop. The waitress was fast and friendly. Highly recommend stopping by this place for lunch or dinner."
